Sam & Eric : Paint Wars

Our good friends, Eric and Sam got engaged earlier this year in New York…

The next thing on the list : paint war.
Thanks for such a great time, guys! Looking forward to what’s up their sleeves for the big day, this summer!
p.s. Sam, that ring might need a good cleaning…

This is SOOO cool!! Where did you get this type of paint?? what is it called??

dwjohnson - April 25, 2012 - 12:36 pm

Amanda and Rhema,

The paint is actually color powder imported from India, based off the traditional Indian Festival of Color called Holi.

Rhema - April 25, 2012 - 4:00 pm

Thanks so much!! Can I ask where you purchased it?! I have been looking online and am having a hard time finding it.

dwjohnson - April 25, 2012 - 4:29 pm

Not sure where they ordered it from, but try searching Holi Color Powder and you might have some luck!

These are amazing pictures! I want to do this as family pics!

The powder is sold from the Krishna Temple in Utah. They host a festival every spring. But sell the powder year round. http://utahkrishnas.org/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=100&Itemid=190

Rebecca Groen - January 10, 2013 - 2:33 pm

Hi!

I live in Langley, British Columbia and I just recently saw the photoshoot that you did with the paint powder. I understand you’re likely busy with your photography work, but I was wondering if you would be able to tell me where you got this paint powder from? My fiance and I are hoping to do a similar idea for our photos.

Thanks!
Rebecca
